Jan,
I've had these on my Avant for about a month and a half. I started with 32 psi, but that was WAY too soft. The fuel flap sticker says 36, so I tried it. The impacts of every single peeble could be felt through the steering wheel. So I dropped it to 34.5-35 and that seems to be really good. I drive pretty aggresively and haven't had any problems so far. However, these are not sticky tires by any means. When pushed had they do give way very easily. I've thrown my car into 4 wheel drifts when pushing too hard.
Hope this helps,
Rick
98.5 Avant QMS

Maximum PSI for the Pirelli Winter 210A is 44 lbs. I would do as Rick suggests, start at 35. If you want to follow the Audi Owners Manual the pressure should be, for 3 or less occupants, 36 + 3 or 39lbs. Comments by anyone else will be appreciated.
LouisE
