Can anyone comment on their experience with upgrading from a 17" to an 18" wheel? I am currently considering such an upgrade for my TT and would like to get a sense of what to expect

At first I had stock 15" wheels on my A4, then I upgraded to 17" and now I put on some 19's. There's not much difference in the drive quality when you go from 17s to 19s (of course the ride is a bit harsher but not a radical difference and I live in Montreal, Canada and we have the absolute worst roads here!) so I'm imagining that from 17s to 18's there wont be much difference. The car will handle better but it will also weigh more. If you want to go for looks, 18s will make a big difference.

like they are going to bend some rim or something. But with the firm ride I feel more comfortable going into turns faster. I've had my 18" volks in for a week now, the only complains I've is the tires noise are louder, and my car looks higher off the ground. So after a 18" upgrade you might want to do some lowering too.
