I might purchase a set of rims (rims only) and am deciding whether they will fit or not, and basically how much rolling will need tobe done to the fenders.
What tires do you guys recommend, choices given are 225-40 up to 255-35.
Thanks!

I'd stick with 225 40 18 if I were you. Especially since with the offset of 30mm compared to mine of 32mm, your wheels would stick out 2mm more.

Mine is 32mm, his is 30mm, making his stick out further.
Stock wheels have an offset of 45mm, thus it's not flush to the fenders. Most after market wheels have an offset of 38mm or less, making them more flush to the fender.

that there is some confusion on this one. for instance, this link from tire rack indicates that as the offset becomes more positive, the wheel becomes more sun ken. this site says the same thing but admits that there seems to be some confusion over what's positive and what's negative. finally, this offset calculator agrees with your definition.
i think you are correct, but i'm not sure.
