I have a 2006 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro with factory 17 X 7 wheels (+45 offset; tire size 245/45/17). I am wanting to put 19 X 8.5 wheels from the 2006 A8 (12 spoke) (+35 offset). First of all, will these wheels fit on my A6 as it appears that 17" & 18" were the only options that year. If so, what size tire do I need? (245/35/19) If this all works, I'm looking at the Bridgestone Poteza 960AS. Is this a good tire? Also, what is an appropriate tire pressure as my manual only gives tire pressures for the 17" & 18" wheels.

if you currently run 17 X 7 w/ 245/45/17 then yes you can get away with 19 X 8.5 w/ 245/35/19 the outer diameter is within a tenth of an inch of each other. so diameter is fine.
width wise is where you'll run into issues... your going to have to get a spacer to maintain the same inner brake clearance of your 17x7s because going to the 19x8.5 gives you 9mm less clearance. Your new wheels will also be sticking 4cm further out (you may need to roll your fender lip)
also be aware going from a 45 to a 35 profile tire means a rougher ride in the car as there will be less rubber to absorb the road.
