Needing new tires, looking at your two least expensive options currently: RS-A and SP Sport 8000. Any thoughts on those two? These are going on a '97 A4, fwiw. I live in South Florida, so sun + afternoon showers is the usual. Not doing any terribly aggressive driving (these are 55 series, after all!), though I am on an aftermarket shock/spring combo. Treadwear is important, as I can't come back in 15,000 miles to the wife and say I need new tires again :-)
More importantly, how long will the "special" price run on those tires - is it a monthly special (ie ending today?)??
Thanks.

These tires are very different from each other. The Dunlop 8000 is a summer-only performance tire that might wear about 20,000 miles where as the Goodyear Eagle RSA is a an all-season tire that could see closer to 30,000-40,000 miles. Other comparisons : The Dunlop has much faster steering response and much higher levels of wet and dry grip, but will be stiffer riding than the RSA and the Dunlop will not be effective in snow.
Typically (but not always) our specials are good until the end of the month.
For less than $10 more per tire you can find better tires overall, like the Kumho ECSTA KH16 for an all season, or the General Exclaim UHP for a summer tire.
