Default Re: I had 18x8 with 225/40/18s........

But I probably would gone for a 7.5" wide wheel or 235/40/18s due to the fact that tire rim protector doesn't do anything to protect your wheels. The tirerack guys said that with the 235s it would rub with a full load or when lowered, but I think I will take the risk if I do it over a gain, because w/ 8" wide and 225s, the tires look a little thin and watch out for curbs!! I don't have the sport package and didn't lowered the car YET! so the ride is extremely comfortable. And remember to get a 35 offset or slightly smaller wheel offset to get those wheels flush with the fenders, my look great with 35.
look me in user review, in a couple of days.

john.

Default Just got my 18x8 Borbet's in with 225/40/18's

I'll be mounting them on Friday, but from what I've seen the 225/40/18 Dunlop SP Sport W-10 appear to provide as good wheel protection as the Sumitomo 225/45/17's did on my 17x8 Type T's. The lip protector appears to be adequate and I've seen the same size tires on another 18x8 wheel and they also appeared to fit very well. Good lulck.

Regards!

Default I have 18X8" rims with no problem in ride comfort what so ever.

I think ride has alot to do with the tire. I originally purchased Pirelli P7000 summer tires for my 18" rims and they rode fine but was very firm with the little bumps. i felt every single thing on the road. i just recently purchased Michelin Pilot Sport tires the ride improved by 90% the car rides smooth and very very nice. big diffrence from the other set of tires.

I have my car lowered with H&R race with Bil sports on 18" and i think that my car rides the same as the stock sport suspension with the michelin tires than it did with the p7000 summer.
