Default 3 of my summers held 38 psi over the winter, the 4th was around 10 psi

I filled it up and it seems to be holding air. I took it to a shop and they told me it had a sidewall leak and offered to sell me a new set of tires since I would need all 4 with a quattro car. At first I thought I did have a slow leak but really I measured a 2 psi difference in the tire hot vs cold. I've had these wheels/tires on for a week now and I don't seem to be losing air. I really don't trust that shop. I think they just said that to sell me a new set of tires. Does it make any sense a tire would lose so much air and no have a leak? Obviously the other possibility is that the wheel is bent on the inside.

Default could also be a leaky valve stem.

Very slow leaks are tough to diagnose. I guess you can wait and see if it gets worse. If you have to add a couple of PSI once a month - that'd be fine by me.

yeah I'll have to try some soapy water on the valve stem and wait it out for now

Default I have one tire that looses about 4 psi a week.

It's right next to my compressor so I just fill it once aweek.

Default valve core?...

This happens to me sometimes....the valve core goes bad...
Take a little spit and put it over the valve stem...if it bubbles, its the core.
You can pick up tire fix kit at walmart or most parts stores.
Make sure it has new valve cores, and a core removal tool. Takes five minutes at the most to change, but make sure you are where you can put air in your tire.
Great for off roading and or beach driving when you have to air down your tires quick.
