I just received the new wheels for my A4 even though I don't have the car yet. I was suprised to find a package of lug bolts included. I have owned many cars including two Porsches. I currently have a 1992 968 cab in my garage. All of these cars use lug nuts. I haven't seen lug bolts since my mother's Fiat. Any idea why Audi uses them? Are there advantages? Do they use them on all of their new cars? Thanks.

I thought all German cars use bolts. MB, VW and I think BMW do. Anyway, I think the reason that you don't have to worry about broken studs. If the bolt brakes you just replace it instead of having to get a new stud pressed in.<p>As for installation, I don't think Bolthead has ever tried to mount a wheel since it won't "hang" on the hub. In fact, lug bolts are a pain in the *** for installation.
