I've tried searching but can't get great information.
I have a set of 205/50/17 Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's (from our old 08 WRX) that I intend to use on our 2012 A5 Q-Tip but I need to buy rims. The car currently uses the 19" OEM Slicer rims.
What is the smallest dimensions for a 17" rim that will fit over the brakes and provide a proper offset? Obviously, 5x112.
17 x ???
Offset ???
Thanks for your help!

Go to the Tire Rack website to see what rims they say will fit - they will have the technical info there.
You can also go to Hartmann website for the same info
But does the tire size match the outside diameter of the present tires you have for this car? If not odometer and many of the cars electronics will be off

Tire Rack is ok with information, but not always as direct about it (offering multiple offsets that may or may not fit as I don't trust their system to really know what car I'm searching).
I was also trying to see if B5 S4 Avus rims would fit, but could not find the information and figured I would ask for the smallest dimensions instead.
Now that you mention it, the tire does not meet the 3% ratio, so I will be buying new tires. Thanks for your help.

17X7.5 will fit, but as you correctly stated the 205/50R17 tire size is too short for the 2012 A5. If you minus size to 17", use 225/50R17.
