Default Another offset question-if you add a spacer is that added to the offset or subtracted?

For example if i had a wheel that had a 35mm offset and i add a 12mm spacer, is the offset now 47mm or is it now 23mm?

Default Subtracted. More.

Offset is measured in millimeters, based n how far *outboard* the mounting surface is relative to the wheel centerline. So if you add a spacer, the mounting point goes *in*, pushing the wheel *out*.

Ergo, an offset of 35 is really "-35" and is farther OUT than one of -45. A ricer offset would be Zero.

For proper handling and steering, stay within 5-10mm of stock. if that doesn;t work, the wheels dont fit.

OK so does that mean a wheel with a 35mm offset plus a 12mm spacer= 47mm offset or 23mm offset?

Default 35 minus 12 = 23.

it pushes the wheel OUT, whcih is what low numberic offset wheels do naturally.

yes, all the lousy nomenclature makes the math confusing.

Default Why? The nomenclature is confusing.

Offset is in minus MM yet no one ever writes it that way....

You dumb? You knew enough to ask!
