I like the looks of this wheel, it appears to have some "lip"....anyone seen pics other than those on the borbet site or tire rack site?
thanks

Default I saw them at our last CO meeting...

They were on a UrS4 in 17". They look really nice, but appear a bit smaller, because of the fastners. This seems to be true of many multi-piece wheels. They'd look really great in 18". BTW - they do have a great looking machined lip. HTH.

Thanks Craig....I agree, most multi-piece (or multi-piece look) wheels do appear smaller due to the rivets. I may have to opt for 18's if I go with this wheel.
thanks again!

Default The Type R's Craig saw

are on my UrS4, and I agree they look a bit smaller than some other 17" designs. I think they look even smaller due to the large wheel gap on UrS4s, and my car is not lowered. Having said that, I like the look of the Type R's. I didn't want to go to 18"s for ride and road quality considerations.

DOC:
thanks for your response...forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean by "UrS4"? I've got a 1.8TQ with sport package and am wrestling with going with 17's or 18's in the type r....can you tell me, is the edge of the lip flush with the spokes, or is the lip "out" slightly from the spokes. what tires are you running? assuming you have an S4, I assume your ride quality/ noise level has remained same as stock? any opinions on 18" and ride quality? i'm in North Carolina and the roads are decent.
any advice is appreciated....I am ready to make a call to Eddie but remain indecisive.
thanks

UrS4 refers to the older style S4 (based on the 100 body style), in my case a '94.
I am not looking at the car now, but I think the wheel lip protrudes slightly outside the spokes.
I have Bridgestone RE730s, in, I think, a 225/45/17 size. Great tire for the price, although a little noisy.
Ride quality has deteriorated definitely from stock (which is a 16" wheel), although how much is attributable to the larger wheel, and how much is attributable to the stiffer Bilstein's I installed at the same time, is debatable. Handling is much improved, and outweighs ride quality deterioration.
Sorry that I don't have any pics.
Call Eddie, he'll be a big help.

Default Looked at car, and

the outermost bulge of the spokes is a quarter to half-inch recessed from wheel lip. HTH
