Default I currently have this setup on my FWD Passat

18x8.5 BBS RC's ET 38 running Kumho 235/40/18 tires. I also have Neuspeed SofSport springs with Bilstein/Neuspeed valved shocks. I had a good amount of rubbing. I later found out that my upper ball joints were shot and ended up having to replace the control arms. Not sure if that would lead to the excessive rubbing (fenders were actually cutting into the tires) but while I was having the control arms replaced, I had the roll the fender lips. No more rubbing at all over various sized dips and potholes. I would say with a stock suspension, you would be ok. Anything lowered and you may have the same problems I encountered.

Regards.
