Wow,<p>Can anyone explain why the S02 placed so poorly? It has never sucked so badly in a test that I have read.<p>How about the new Yokahama AVS sport? A copy of the old Uniroyal tread design/S02/Mxx3 new, and 9000. The copy said "a never seen before tread". Yep, not since 1990 Eurospec Uniroyal.

noise maybe? Wear? Have not seen test, but didn't they give a reason? Surely it wasn't grip!

Nope, test said really poor wet braking and overall grip.

Note that the SO-2's they tested were not the Pole Positions, that may account for the poor performance vs. the others.<p>Sharon

Correction, they said good wet braking but very poor dry braking and dry grip.

This is shocking! Maybe they forgot to put air in them! Have other manufacturers raised the bar with new tires?

The S0-2 is a great tire. There had to be some major error for the Dry Braking test. I'm sure that the next issue will explain what happened.
