Default AVOID G FORCE KDW TIRES FROM TIRE RACK!

I purchased a set of g force kdw tires from tire rack seemed like a good deal because they were only $103.00 each when local dealers wanted much more after seeing the price I asked my audi dealer if the tires would fit and they said no problem however after about 6 wheel balences and much shakeing at 65 to 70 mph. audi said thet are either defective or seconds. my good buy isnt so good anymore the size is 215/50/16 I live in Alaska so returning them is very expensive .

Nah, its just that BFGs have always taken a TON of weights to balance... I use them on my race car and they take a lot of work to balance... Yokohamas on the other hand often don't need any weights when match mounted...

Default Another take...

Those are very good tires, but! Every company does make some duds. What settings did they use to balance the tire? High resolution? Weights inside and out? Are your rims perfectly true? If any of there are answered no, then the tires are not to blame.

I have found more often than not that the tech was a moron or the wheels were bent. The rack should return them no questions asked, if the previous balancing questions were all answered.

Default I had that happen with some Yokohamas a couple years...

...ago. I had them balanced about 10 times by different people, and I still had a low speed wobble and a freeway speed vibration. Finally, I just replaced them, but that was about 20K miles of hell I don't want to go through again. I pretty much decided that it had soemthing to do with buying them from Costco. That low price I got must have been for a reason! I highly doubt that Tire Rack would knowingly sell defects. If you call them, I'm sure they'll help you out. Good luck!
Charles

Default I can't speak for them, but ...

Tirerack has been a premier sponsor of the AudiWorld site and I've always had good business experiences with them. If your tires are defective then you should be on the horn with them looking for some type of solution. Just my $.02.
Jason E. Teller

Default Re: G FORCE KDWs

If you have a warranty issue in your case, then give our customer service department a call. All of our tires feature their respective mfrs. warranty to help you with a potentially defective tire.

The KDWs have not been known for having a high incidence of problems, but ocasionally there can be a problem in a tire during the mfg., that will not be apparent until on car. This is true of everything, whether tires, TVs or a bad batch of ice cream. Thus the warranty on the tires.

Since I dont have your name of info, I cant be sure if I helped you or not- give my customer service department a call- 800.428.8355, ext 360

Thanks!
