Default Bending wheels

I've bent 2 wheels on the roads in NJ from potholes. I have 225/45/17 Nitto NT-450's at about 37 psi. What is causing my wheels to bend? Not enough tire pressure or weak sidewalls? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Default Bent wheels

Hey, read my story below and on the previous page about my bent wheels. The thinner the wall, the greater the chance of bending (I have Borbet C Type 16s and one of them was real bad). Weak sidewalls are the primary cause I would guess. Tire pressure is rarely a factor unless you're driving around at 10 PSI under recommended, which I hope you're not. Call Wheel Collision Center in Bath, PA or follow the URL below for fixing.
