Default can I install different size tires front and rear on my car?

I am thinking about putting wider rear tires on my car, for the summer season only. Would this change anything on the quattro system that might be bad? I would obviously try to find a size with a very close number of revolutions per mile. right now I'm running 255-35-19 all around. If I go to a 20" summer wheel I'll either just go 265-30-20 on all four or go staggered if you all think its a good idea. Thanks in advance-

Your diameters must be approximately the same, within a few tenths of an inch.
