Default CEC Type 129 wheels powdercoated "lazer black" For Sale!

A set of 17x7.5 (5x112) CEC Type 129 wheels that has been custom powdercoated "lazer black." I bought it 2 yrs. ago and it originally has a silver finish. I haven't used it or mounted any tires on the wheels since I had it powdercoated 3 mos. ago. The powdercoating process cost me $450. The wheels are made by Antera of Italy for CEC, Claus Ettensberger Corporation tuning shop in L.A.. I have the center cap(which is not shown in the pic) also powdercoated but I think it looks better without it IMO. The wheels will fit the Audi A4, A6, S4?(not sure about the caliper clearance), VW Passat B5 and Mercedes Benz with 5x112 bolt pattern. Asking $700 + SH (firm).

Default if you remove the trim from the car, then it might be able to be powdercoated...

however, I'm not sure the process will work on something that is not truly metal.

To work, an electric current has to pass through the metal to cause a charge that will make the powder stick tot he metal. Then, it is put in an oven or kiln to cure.

Alos, the chrome trim is a glossy finish. That finish will have to be removed before anything will stick to it.

Hope that helps,

PeteH

I think the chrome trim is made of plastic. It will only melt in the kiln.

"powdercoating" is an expensive process. Why don't you just buy the black trim from a 1.8t?
