Default Champiro Tires ???

Traded my 04 A-4 for an 05 A-4 with unusually low miles - sweet. It came with Champiro 328 tires. They have their country of origin stamped on the side. It is a country that has been notable for recalls, tainted products, and cheap manufacturing. The tires look practically new with lots of tread. Yet considering the reputation in general of where they were made I am uneasy about their safety. Any comments?

You should ship your Champiro tires to me if you are concerned enough.
I'll ride with them anytime.

Seriously, if you want to get rid of them. Let me know.

Here's a thread from a competing site...http://forums.roadfly.com/forums/wheels/6008689-7.html

Default More on Champiro 328 tire

Thanks, the Roadfly forum was helpful. I've also found that the 328 is a summer performance tire. I'll give it 2 stars out of 5 for steering response compared to Bridgestone's Grand Touring model I previously used. Les Schwab used to sell Champiro but stopped due to irregular supply. They did assure me that they were reasonably well made and won't likely fall apart on me. Much as I want Bridgestones again I guess I'm stuck with them for awhile unless someone wants to make a generous price offer for them.
