I purchased a set of ContiExtreme's after wearing out P6s after 17K, and replacing them with tire store recommended Michelin MXV4 Plus. I returned the Michelins after one week (see previous post) for a set of the Conti's. I have a 1000+ miles of driving time, on an A4 1.8T- and here are my impressions:
The Conti is a great all around high performance all season tire. It is good as its' combination of characteristics out weigh functional excellence in any one area. The tire is noisy for the first 200 miules or so due to the all season tread pattern but quiets down quite a bit after break in. The tire has exceptional dampening characteristics while not feeling mushy or dead. The response is quick and stable. The tire holds firmly during high speed cornering both on highway and twisty back country roads. The wet weather performance is very good. I am very happy with these tires after the initial break in period and hope to see them last for the 30+K of the wear rating.
