Default correct wheel rim size

Have a 2006 A4 2.0T quattro with s line, have 18" rims and wheels on it now but need snow tires soon and want to go to 17" size, some questions.
1. will 17" rim fit, I don't have brembo brakes??
2. what should the offset be?? I find alot of rims in the 35mm offset but the dealer tells me 43-45 offset is correct.
3. will I need longer or shorter lugs???

thanks for your time.

Yes, a variety of 17" wheels will fit over the brakes with no problems and a variety of offsets will work well on the vehicle. The bolt sizes will vary from wheel to wheel as widths and offsets vary.
