Now you're just following a path of trying to cheaply fix someone else's cheap botched fix.
I don't want spot treatments of high heat applied to my wheels. I'd worry that you're weakening the structural integrity of the wheel, especially with additional repairs. Never mind the funky application of wheel weights you'll probably now need to keep it balanced.
$400 is about half the cost of a new one. Not cheap, but you'll get back a wheel that looks and is as strong as a new one. It's worth the cost, IMHO.

i was trying to knock the price down by determining the repair quality.
i dont short cut anything. it just gnaws on my mind and i hate that. =)
$400 is fairly cheap for piece of mind and quality work. besides .. i think it's actually only going to cost max $300. woo
