Default Do 225/40/18 tires on a 8.5" wheel (stretched) cause more road noise?

I bought a set of Falken Azenis ST115 tires and they were supposed to be very quiet, they aren't. Just wondering if the stretch configuration I have is making the noise worse than normal.

Also, would a poor alignment or balancing cause the noise to be louder?

Agree with QP... many run 225/40R18 on 8.5" <a few even on 9"> with no problems.

Default I had an alignment done not too long ago, but I'll do it again.

It's lowered, so the camber is pretty bad. Could this do it?

Default How about lowered cars with more camber?

I'm going to check the alignment cause.

Thanks for your help.

Default well, yeah...

that would probably be the reason.

But was the noise there with your previous tires or did it just suddenly start when you put the new tires on?

Default I didn't have the noise, I had 17" Nokian Hakkas on the S4 Avus wheel...

Switched to these new tires and wheels and the sound is louder now. It's not unbearable at all, but I just thought it would be a lot quieter with these tires.

Default Makes no difference on how the tire fits the wheel.

Sounds like your alignment might be the issue.

I'll get the alignment checked out.
