Do I need new longer bolts?

With respect to wheel safety... install the wheel, put a mark on one of the hexagonal edges of the bolt. If you can get between five and six turns before it snugs tight, then you are fine. Less than four and you are asking for trouble... that small a bite can lead to stretching and fatigue of the bolt - which increases the risk of breaking or actually loosening of the bolt.
By the way, its always a good idea to replace the lugs if you do not know their torquing history. Overtightening of the lugs can also stretch and fatigue the bolt - even if it is the right length and properly seated.
