I need to buy tires here in the next couple months. I am looking at the Falken 615 and Kumho MX as economical tires i can drive daily and also use for a couple Auto-x's. I do have r-compounds for the track, but they don't heat up fast enough for auto-x. I also have dedicated snow tires for the winter, so that is not a concern either.

I am wondering how these tires are noise wise and ride quality wise?

Not sure on the noise, but also consider the Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212

to the hankook. seeing as i have not driven the 615, mx or the hankook i don't have any grounds for evaluation. have you driven the hankook?

I'm not considering the MX, both he RT615 and the Hankook perform better.

You will only get 10K miles out of them, so street use should be limited

RS2 Z212 have a higher load rating than the MX. Treadwear rating is equal across the board.

I felt like the MXs had slightly stiffer sidewalls than the Hankook RS2 Z212s. The Ecsta MXs tramlined a bit more than the RS2s.

But, the difference between them in daily driving, with spirited weekend driving, cannot be felt by your average driver.

I say your local tire shop is full of it!

For the money, the MX is the better buy for me. I go through tires every year, so the cheaper, the better.

My next set will be the RS2 Z212s though.
