Any opinion on these? Only a few posts on them in the past year or two.
I'm looking for something to replace my S02s, for track and to/from track use. Noise is not an issue.

These will be a step down from the S02 for track use, but are less expensive than the S02 tires were priced at back at their peak. Also consider the Kumho MX would should be around the same price range depending on size and would be a step up in dry grip/track use from the KDW2.

Tires

If I compare the KDW, MX, and PS2 (I know, different price range, but just for comparison's sake) the KDW and PS2 are very close in ratings, and both seem to have better ratings than the MX, including dry traction?
I really hate 'new tire time'....

with mine and they will still be good for 30K+ miles for their useful life. For as good of a performer they are, I am amazed by their longevity. Yes, they are loud, but they are a solid performer on and off the track. I can't see the max performance tires lasting this long, obviously, and I'm convinced that these tires perform as well if not better than them.

the KDW are in a lower performance category. I'm not sure how much faith I put in these ratings....a recent mag just did a review of performance tires and the Conti Extremes came out near the top. I have not heard anything good about those tires from owners on AW.

I'm not concerned too much about them being loud. I was thinking to go with a 17" tire on my existing rims purely for the track and to/from, and maybe getting some 18" rims with PS2 or S03s for daily driving. I'm not too aggressive on the street, so the 18" tires should last awhile if I don't run them on the track.
