Gary@Tirerack, need some help with winter wheels and fitment...
My wife has a 2004(.5) Jetta GLI 1.8T as shown in my sig. We're looking for winter wheels and I checked out Tirerack.com and all I see listed is 18" and larger. I'm sure some 17" wheels fit over those brakes. Do you have any additional info on possible wheels that would fit?
Below is a straight on shot of the stock 18" wheel/brakes. I know the issue might not be in the diameter, and may be due to protrusion outwards of the caliper, but still I think there must be some 17" or even 16" that fit. I mean, there are 16" wheels that fit over the S4 Brakes!!! Perhaps these weren't measured adequately back when the VW 337 came out, and then the choices were just copied from there (same brakes)?

16" steels and many other options clear the brakes.
We're in the process of working the bugs out of the winter site at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience.

the caliper looks the same as my GTI 1.8T...
I'm running 12.3" TT rotors on the front and some 16" wheels fit just fine (all that fit the TT). How big are the rotors on the GLI?

Update, web shows all the options now.

Gary, your link brings me to the "GLS 1.8T", we have the "GLI 1.8T"...
when I change the car to "GLI 1.8T Sedan", I come up with only 3 16" Alloy wheels. Eric's post lists 5.
Missing from the website are:
16X7 5-100 ET35 MM HT3 155.00 silver & gray 20lb
16X7 5-100 ET35 SE FOX 5 110.00 20-21lb
Are those 2 still available and fit?

just curious why the 16"/17" aren't listed on the main site (but on the winter site)...
is the normal proceedure that you only list wheels that are equal to, or greater in diameter than the stock wheels? That's all I could think of. I figured if you sold something that fit, it would be on the main site, regardless if it is bigger or smaller.
