Default Gary - 275/45 R19 - Q7

Gary,

Just wanted to get your opinion on some tires we just ordered from you - We just ordered replacement tires for our 2007 Q7 with the factory 19" x 8.5" rims. The OEM Tire size was 265-50 R19. Since there wasn't much choice on that size for all-seasons, I saw and ordered the Continental Extreme Contact DWS in the 275-45 R19, which came up as an alternative size for those rims from the Tirerack website.

The garage called and was concerned about the size (although we've yet to bring the vehicle by - tommorrow). They think they look huge and larger then their flatbed's tires..

I just wanted to confirm that we've not made a mistake along the way - and be prepared to defend the choice, if they have any trouble mounting the tire, (that they don't try and blame the size)?

Thanks for your assistance..

The overall diameter is actually smaller on the tires you purchased. And though they are a bit wider, you shouldn't come into any rubbing issues on a stock suspension.

No problem. The recommended rim width range given by Continental on this tire is 8.5"-10", so even the tire manufacturer states they will fit your OE wheel size with no problem.

Thanks for the reassurance..

I'll follow up after tommorrow with any comments/observations about the tires, as those of us with the 19s don't have too many choices for our Q7's.

Thanks..

Thanks again, they mounted fine, seem pretty quiet and smooth so far..

Now, unfortunately, noted that it's time for brake pads as well..
