Gary-I have a pea sized sidewall rubber missing after rubbing up against curb. Do I need to replace?

Default Gary-I have a pea sized sidewall rubber missing after rubbing up against curb. Do I need to replace?

not too deep and can't see any steel belts showing through. Is this o.k. or should I replace?

A sidewall is the most critical part of the tire IMO, lots of movement and load/cornering being held there. I would suggest having the tire checked out locally to be sure that it is safe.
