Default Either get the cheapest, most expensive, or something inbetween.
Blizzak WS-50s are on serious closeout. Search a few sizes and be flexible, pun intended.

Dunlop, either M3 or 3D or Nokian Hakkapeliitta or WR G2. Check 'em out.

Default I'm currently using Bridgestone LM25s on my Avus wheels.
I have no complaints, but then it hasn't really snowed for the past few years, where I live.

I had the michelins. While Michelin makes great, round, quality tires, i thought these were very soft and handled poorly compared to the Vreedsteins or the Dunlops.

I've not had the Wrs but hear they are terrific, if you don't need a hard-core snow tire.
