Has anyone painted steel wheels silver?
I have winter tires on steels wheels. I am not a big fan of plastic covers and was wondering if anyone has painted their steel wheels. If so,
1. What product(s) did you use?
2. Does it look stupid or ok?
3. Do you have any pictures?
Thanks.

I use to do it to my wheels
in the 60s and 70s when I could not afford mag wheels or the car was not worth putting them on. I used regular aluminum paint from the hardware store. I used it in climates that were pretty harsh - upstate NY (Plattsburg - two memorable winters) and two summers in Shreveport. The paint held up fine and occasionaly I would touch them up the the same paint.
I liked the look better than hubcaps - since you can see the lugs bolts/nuts. I do not like the look of black on black when it comes to wheels and tires - the wheels just look dirty.
If I was in the same postion as you - I would paint mine.
