How do Hankook Ventus tires compare to Kumho 712's?

I have read an article by Austrilian Auto publication and the K104 is ranked really high among Nero, S-03, P9000, Pilot PS2, GS-D3, Toyo TS-1 and many others. While I do not know how valid that publication or tests were at least I have heard good comments on them as far as performance goes. However, I have also heard one person complaint about tires going out of round. I would thinks that model is a class above the 712 which makes the Hankook Ventus the new value champion.

you had one Hankook went out of round?
I might get those in 19s. Did you have problems with them? other than going out of round? were they very noisy?

and at first I didn't mind the minor vibrations (thought that's from feeling every imperfection in the road from coilovers). But after a couple of weeks or so, I decided to have the wheels/tires re-balanced and Wheel Works told me that two of the four tires I had were slightly out-of-round (I bought the wheels/tires as a set online). So, I changed them over completely to S-03s and sent the K104s back to the online store (which I was credited for).
But anyway, the short time I had the Ventus Sport K104s, other than minor vibrations, I can tell that they handled/gripped better than the Kumho's (which I had on my old 2.8 for a couple of yrs.). Then again, I am comparing 19s to 18s in that aspect.
Edit: If I were looking for strictly summer tires, I'd buy the Hankook K104s again (just make sure the tires are fine first, of course). They were affordable like Kumhos, but a much better summer tire. What size are you looking at? 235/35/ZR19s maybe? And no, I thought they were the same noise level or more quiet than the Kumhos.

As you know I am still saving for my Volks and any pennies saved on tire without sacrificing on performance is a huge plus. Just hope I am luckier in the tire department and won't have any quality issues with Hankook. I am choosing between that and Kumho MX and the new Toyo all season FZ4 in 235/35/19 and they are all around $165 each and Hankook was the cheapest at the local shop.

Toyo's FZ4. A/S tires w/ the highest rated treadwear (300) is a great combo plus Toyo has the best reputation and is most well-known of the three brands.
2nd choice would be Hankook Ventus Sport K104s w/ a treadwear of 280. I already told you how much I like those tires and I would buy them again (for my wife's car when her S-03s need to be replaced later this yr.). The K104s are similar in performance and are waaay more cost effective than buying S-03s again.
Kumho's MX comes in w/ the lowest treadwear rating at only 220 (similar to the over-priced S-03s I had). I have no experience w/ this tire, but it seems to be better than the 712s at least.
BTW, thanks. I'm glad to help out any time.
