Lip protection aside, will 215 tires fit on 8.5" wide wheels?

I have some 215 wide tires lying around I'd like to put on my SSR comps for some street driving. considering that it's at least 5cm less than what's on there now....I'm wondering if it'll be a problem..

check the specs on Tire Rack or the tire manufacturer's web site

I can check, what exact sizes are you referring to? Just a complete tire size will do.
