Looking at rims for my 2007 S4. I think the OEM offset is 35...will a 44mm offset work?

Would spacers be a good option to use? What is the downside of using spacers

I'm not an expert in spacers, although I don't see a problem w/10mm, if you must.

Default One more component to balance, longer studs, more weight, .....

more expense, more stress on bearings. You must keep a set of stock wheel bolts in car for the spare. All that said many allroad's use them without trouble. (The shallow offset on an allroad (20) leaves little choice in wheels without spacers.) When I pulled my 3mm spacers off my front hubs to return to a stock offset the inner edge of the bolt holes had rusted. They needed to be tapped out after the tire shop busted a bolt off.
