Default Max Tire Stretch?

I found a couple sets of OEM take-off wheels to run in the winter.

I like the A5 wheels best, but they are 8.5" wide, and I'm planning on running 235/50-18 winter tires. According to Michelin's book, that size will work on wheels from 7" to 8.5" wide. Will I run into any issues stretching the tire that much? Will it look weird?

The second set are actually for a Q5, and they're 18x8s, which is the size I was planning on running.

Thanks!

Nevermind. After looking at the wheels I chose the Q5 wheels anyway, so stretch won't be an issue.

To answer your question anyway - the size wheel you want to use is at the max of the range given for your tire. So you will be alright. The only downside is that you may not have as much curb rash protection as one would with a more narrow wheel.

Thanks Reggie! I really like these wheels. I haven't seen the style before, but then again I haven't been looking at Q5s. They seem to be great quality, and were 30% less than the Hartmanns and I didn't have to pay shipping. They're a bit more intricate than the 5-spokes I was leaning toward, but have enough room to get between spokes to clean.

I know it's a moot point but if you stretch a tire to the max, you would have to run a little higher air pressure to ensure even tread wear.
