New brake pads at 61,000 miles?
Should my 1996 A4 need new brake pads and rotors at 61,000 miles, or am I driving the car wrong?
Is there any special way to drive with the brakes on the A4?
Kirk

Youre kidding right?
When I got my S4....I took it to a track event...and at 1,800 miles I needed new
front brake pads. 61,000 miles before brake pads is actually pretty good.
It is a known fact that the A4 front rotors usually get replaced at about 35-40K
miles. This info was received from a friend of mine that use to be a
service manager at an Audi dealer...and is know a service trainer of audi
technicians. I trust his knowledge.

That's pretty good, actually. Usually, disc brakes...
...don't last that long; especially if you drive hard or have an automatic transmission. I did manage to get 80K on both the front and rear of my 90Q though, and there was still actually about 10-20K left. I just wanted to do them early! :-)
What brakes....I don't need no stinkin brakes!
Charles
