I posted a request for tire dealers who handle Nokian Hakka 1 winter tires and got one "NT" suggesting etires.com. As it turns out etires.com doesn't handle Hakka 1's nor does most of the eastern New England tire dealers I've spoken to. Those that do were quoting prices of $185 to $200 for the studded tire in 205/55-16 - installation and balancing would be additional - yikes!

After considerable searching around the Net, I tried found Goss Tire of Vermont (http://www.gosstire.com/index.htm) and their Keith Reinders quoted me a price of $128/each with UPS shipping amounting to $42 for the four tires. Given the fact that I'm saving the VT sales take of almost $26, the shipping is effectively $16.

I have no interest in Goss Tire other than my already done purchase and to note that they have e-mail and they're nice folks to deal with

There's also Greer tire somewhere in the midwest.

according to the www.etires.com web page, they DO sell various Nokian tires, including the Hakka #1s... is this incorrect, or do you mean that they don't offer them with studs, or that they don't have all the sizes in stock?
(most sizes are listed as "Limited" availability, implying up to a week before
they ship)
just curious what you really meant...
