unlike Steve, I can only compare them with the stock Goodyear RS-As.
My only complaint would be moderate tire howl from 40-60mph. Not a big deal since I usually have tunes on.

i have the 225/45/17 Toyo T1-S for about 6 weeks, the only complain i have is the noise when driving in the rain at high speed.

Last weekend I gave an E-ticket ride to a Toyo tire engineer at the track event I was at. My car has S-02 PP tires in 225/45/17 size. Before going on the track with him...he was telling me about the merits of the Toyo T1-S tire...even showing me a graph of how it compared with other tires as the slip angle increased. After the 10 lap ride he immediately got out of the car and looked at the S-02 PP tires...and stated ...and this is the truth...." I don't think the T1-S could have taken that ...and come out as well as the S-02 PP did". So basically, the T1-S is good...but in my opinion...and apparently the Toyo rep....at the limit the S-02 does better than the T1-S.
BTW, this is just what I heard....I gain nothing from anybody buying Toyo tires, or any other tire manufacturer for that matter. I just thought it was relevant to the discussion.

Its so hard for me to say which is better consider the fact that my car and his car handles differently and he has 18"s on his car. But the reason for me to decide to go for the Toyo T1-S instead of S02 is because they "supposedly" to last longer and "supposedly" to have really good performance as well.
so far, these tires have more than enough performance for me and i dont go to tracks that often anywaz. Therefore, tire wear is more important to me. However, i know they are better than P7000SS(225/45/17) and SP8000E(205/55/16) for sure from my past experiences.
I admit S02s are very nice tires, but they are just not too practical for me.

Like Al P. said below....
Eddie@Tirerack recommends them.
Eddie has them on his 323i also. I have my pick of them all, and I get the fortunate opportunity to drive on everything as well, and thats why I run them.
Like I will tell you when you call me.. they are the best. Primarily for wet traction.... you CANNOT buy a better wet itre. excellent ride comfort & top in dry handling too.
RE730s have had good feedback thus far, but it is designed to be below the S02 & does not feature the construction technology of the S02PP (being the 'showcase technology' tire for BS.
AVS Sports I recommend as a very very good, more economical alternative to the S02PPs, but bear in mind the S02s are still yout top tire choice.
Just call me if you want to discuss further, or when you are ready for them- availaibility on them should be mid to late week (April 3rd)
