Default Question about tire traction and TWR ...

Does a lower TWR always translate to better grip in the dry when comparing same brand tires and sizes? ? I.e. a 200 twr has worse grip than a 140 twr or that's not always the case?

Default No, that is not always the case.

Although, it's a good way to try and find out what category a tire might be in, or to give you an idea of how long the tire will last. As rubber compounds are perfected, you will be able to get more grip, but have the tire last longer. Don't use tread wear ratings to decide what tire has more grip.. read a LOT of reviews and more importantly comparison tests between different tires.
