Look at the LM better trend life and much better
dry road handling which in NJ I suspect you will see more often than not. I use Dunlop SP winter Sports on my 4.2 northern New England. Good luck
with your choice.

I'm going through the same process. As I'm focused on finding a high performance winter tire, I crossed off the list the Blizzack -50 and the Artic Alpins, although both are available for the allroad in the preferred 16" downsize. I'm not finding any high performance winter tire available in 215/65/16 (TireRack is apparently out of Pilot Alpins, and the LM-22s are only produced in 215/55/16, which Luke at TireRack says don't work on the allroad). The Nokian NRW is available in 225/55/16, and I'm told by Gary at Ronal that this size works fine on the allroad. I haven't seen many reviews or tests of this tire. Anyone else using this tire and size on the allroad?
For 17" tires, the Dunlop M2s (M3s apparently not available in NA) and the Pirelli Winter Snow Sport 210s are available in the OEM 225/55/17 size. The Nokian is available in 235/45/17, which I'm told also fit on the OEM wheel.
And while I might save a few bucks today going with OEM-sized winter tires, over time using the OEM wheels and re-mounting four tires 2x each year would be costly (adding about $200 a year).
Since I'd prefer 16" high performance snows with separate wheels, I'm still in a quagmire. Right now, I'm leaning toward the Nokian NRWs in 225/55/16.

I just got some unique Goodyear Ultra Grip GW2 in the stock size 225 55 17. They are excellent...made in Germany as well. My thoughts are to get a good snow tire, in the stock size, and get an extra set of OEM wheels for the others...just have to find those for cheap now!
