Let me start by saying I know that this has been asked before, but I have to ask this :
Can 17 inch A8 wheels and 225/55/17 Goodyears fit on a A4 without rubbing in the tirewells?
Any answer is appreciated - I am planning to buy the set tonight.
thanks
jason

The 55 series tire you're talking about is going to be larger diameter than the stock wheel/tire combo. The usual 17" tire would be a 225/45-17, which is virtually identical in OD to the original tires. The 225/45 is fine in terms of width, as that is what comes standard on the S4.
My suggestion would be to downsize that tire to a 225/45, and then you could rest assured that you won't have any problems. With the larger tire clearance MAY be a problem, and speedo/odo error WILL be a problem.
