Default Red and Yellow dots on new tires.

Does anyone know the best way to remove or hide the red and yellow dots on my tires. I probably should have watched for this when they were mounted, but I didn't. BTW, what do they designate. Thanks<p>klutes 98 Silver 1.8TQMS

Default Re: Red and Yellow dots on new tires.

They are used to indicate the heaviest (red) part of the tire and the radial stiffest part (yellow). In the old days with steel wheels one used to line up the valve stem with the red dot as this would sort of match mount and minimize balance weights. With alloy wheels the dots can pretty much be ignored as the wheels are almost perfectly round and balanaced.
