Should I worry about my new tires?

Hello,
I picked up my new A3 a few weeks back and on the 2nd day, we went over to our uncle's house for a visit and as we were leaving the driveway, I accidentally hit the side wall of the garden out front of the house (like 2" tall wall) with the rear passenger wheel. I didn't think anything of it as I thought I just drove over it, but as we got home and checked the rear passenger wheel, I noticed the tire was ... I don't know the right word for it... ripped?
See attached pics.
My husband says that it isn't a big deal and there shouldn't be any issues with it since it didn't puncture the tire. The weird thing is that the rims weren't scratched at all. Should I be concerned? Is there anything I can use it keep it down in place or should I just leave it as is?

I'll let Gary answer this - and I would also go to a place like Discount Tire (if you have a local one) and get their opinion. - Good news is that if you have to replace the tire you only need one and not four as the tire diameters on a all wheel drive Audis need to be within 4/32nd tread depth of each other.
It does not look like the side wall beads have been compromised but I am not an expert enough to say there is not a issue hence my recommendation to take it in.

Can you see any steel belt exposed under that flap of rubber?
