Default Size of OEM A4 2.8 seven- and five-spoke wheels

Can someone tell me the dimensions (width, offset, etc.) of the OEM seven-spoke (sport package) and five-spoke A4 2.8 wheels? I am guessing they are 7'' x 16'', but I don't know what the offset is. Come to think of it, what exacty is offset?
Also, if I wanted to add Michelin Arctic Alpins in a 225/50-16 size with new alloy wheels, what would be the better size rim in terms of safety, peformance, appearance, etc., a 7.5 x 16 or a 7 x 16?
Thanks for your help.

Default 16x7 ET45 (ET means offset)...more...

225/50/16 looks good on 16x7.5, although other widths are acceptable. See the link for an explanation of offset. HTH.
CraigB

Tire Rack - Offset
