Size of wheel upgrade?

I am torn between 17 and 18 inch upgrades....I really like the look of a lower profile tire but am concerned about the increased weight and cost of the 18inch wheels...My car was in an accident and I am getting it back next week. I have the stock 16in 5spokers on there but since there was damage to the bumpers I got a charactere/projectzwo setup installed...the 16's will be fine for "all season" winter use but I will need to upgrade in the spring...don't want to look like a fool with small wheels and a bodykit! Anyone have any suggestions?

17" wheels are lighter and cheaper, and you need to remember that 18" tires are not cheap either, so it will cost you every time you have to get a new set. You can get 17" wheels in as small a profile as 35, but it would increase your wheel gap. Smaller wheels tend to be stronger, but that is not always true. And with 18" wheels your limited to a tire width of 225 or you will see some good rubbing. Good luck.
