Default summer tire choices

OK - its getting close to that (no-snow) time, and I'm trying to choose a set of summer tires to go on new R28s, in a 225/45/ZR17 size. Top of my list are: Dunlop SP9000, Bridgestone S02 Poles and Michelin Pilot MXXX3's. From what I've read, the latter two would be considered more sporty, the Dunlop maybe a bit better ride quality + longer lasting. BUT - checking out the company web pages, the Dunlop's tread width is listed as 8.1 inches versus the Bridgestone's 6.7"!!!! This is hard to believe - anyone have comments or can clarify?? That would be narrower than my winter 205 tires! Or am I missing something obvious here? Also would welcome any comments on the respective merits of these tires...

Any comments?

Cheers!

Spud
