Taking wheels and tires to UPS store to ship tommorow, should I let out all the air in the tires?

Default Taking wheels and tires to UPS store to ship tommorow, should I let out all the air in the tires?

I'm guessing it would lessen the shipping weight, but do the inflated tires provide any type of protection for shipment?

Replace with helium so the scales will read out lighter

Default if you can go from say, 35 psi to 0 psi - that's like 150 pounds in shipping for all 4 tires.

Definitely worth it, IMO.

I'd wrap the wheels in bubble wrap for added protection though.

Erm, you're all wrong, it would work. Air has mass like anything else.

Default If you drop the pressure from 45 PSI to 15PSI, I reckon you'll save 150grams per tire.

or 0.6 KG, about 1 lb, for 4 wheels. Probably won't affect shipping cost.

Air will protect the rims. And does nto weigh much
