Consumers finally did a "touring" set a couple years back, but I can't find any side by side tire comparisons for performance tires anywhere.

Nothing against TireRack, but they only compare brands they carry, and nerver quite seam to include all of them in a given test. I'm also unclear as to if they do blind tests, etc. or if the drivers know what they are testing...

Any help out there anywhere? Heck, I'd even pay for a printed magazine, or go to the library! 8-)

Road and track did have a good one on +sizing that appeared to be scientific, but alas, only one brand, and one tire.

The consumers test is actually not bad for a ballpark test. Auto and R&T attempt to use the scientific method, with the nod to Auto. R&T has copped out lately with some poor uncontrolled comparisons. Grassroots does good racing tire tests. Gute fart does great tire comparisons, but their science is questionable.
