Default Those with Kinesis, HRE, Fikse, OZ CA... how did you choose between wheel manufacturers?

(OZ CA = O.Z. Wheels Custom Applications)

For me, Kinesis was the only one that could build the fitment that I needed.

But how did the rest of you choose?

Default I was never too fond of the spacer required for the Fikse wheels to run on B5S4s.

I didn't like any of the Kinesis designs, never looked into OZ CA. So HRE was left. But I couldn't justify spending that kind of cash on a wheel that could be bent (lots of stories about soft HREs) So I bought I-forged.

Default When I looked into it (about 2 years ago) I guess they didn't have a specific S4 fitment.

So what they did was manufactured a hubcentric spacer that would on the back of the wheel mounting hub to fit the S4. If I'm not mistaken, it was not just a plain old spacer like the aftermarket ones. It might have actually bolted to the back of the wheel hub so it was like it was part of the wheel. But I still didn't like the band-aid solution for a $900 wheel.

Default Thought Fikse was...

... a full-custom wheel? Couldn't they have just machined the backing pad to allow for the different offset?

That's stupid using a spacer on a custom $800+ -per-corner wheel.

Default barrel sizes come in half-inch increments ...

and the backpad can only be manipulated so much to compensate.

Default Fiske spacer details.

Here's a pic showing how the spacer is bolted in place (spacer is missing).
