Default Tire size Question For Eddie!

I am looking into getting new Tires for My wifes Mazda MPV the Stock Dunlop sp 4000 AS are nearly gone after 13K miles. Very Sad..... Anyway Im looking at the Sp 5000's or the Sport A2. If I get the 5000's I would like to run 225 -55-16 instead of the 215-60-16 Do you forsee any problems with this setup? Which tire would be best?

TIA
Craig

Default Your speedo will be 2% out with that new size...

... if that is ok with you then sure, go with the wider tire. I can't comment on any rubbing issues, but you should be good. Since they are all season tires, you will have poor winter performance with the wider tire but better summer performance.

As for rubber. It seems like you've decided with Dunlop with the SP5000 or the D60A2. Between those tires, I'd take the SP5000. The sp5000 is popular around here. The A2 has always been a Consumer Reports good tire. For your minivan, you might just look at treadwear and price differences and go with that. For normal driving they will both be good.

There is always Michelin with the MXV4 green+ tire... an excelent tire in this class.

Default Re: See heres the thing if I go 225 its the sp5000 if I go Stock size its the A2 More....

The Sp50000 in the 215 60 16 is the symetrical tread pattern which does nothing for me and is rated much lower than the Asymetical. The michelins are nice but $130 per I think I will pass. So I guess I will go with the A2, I have the sp4000 and they are worn 1/2 down in just 13 K miles. I like Dunlop I have the 9090's on the A4 and they rock. I had the Michelin Pilot sports on my 01 A4 they were not as good as the Dunlops. Michelin makes good stuff but way overpriced.

Thx for the help!

Default Cant go wrong there...

... the D60A2s are a good tire. Tirerack has tones of customer miles rating it. That says something. I think Eddie would say to call him directly to place your order, so you can get the Audiworld discount or whatever.

I like my Pilot Sports but my next tires... I want to get the SP9000s.
