Default Tire size questions on a 2003 a4 w/ 20x9 rims

Would a 20x9 rim rub?. Also what are the tire sizes that would fit. On one site it said either 255/35 or 295/40. But wouldn't a 30 be needed to keep the plus sizing in effect? So what is the optimal tire size on a 20x9 rim

Default 9" wheel width ...

.
The Bridgestone S-03 specs show that, depending on the tire's profile, 235-275 section width's can be used on a 9" wheel width.

I doubt that any of their 20" tires would fit an A4, though. Certainly a 255/35-20 would not (that what I run on my S8), and Bridgestone doesn't offer a "narrow" 30 series tire for a 20" wheel. Even if they did, the load rating would probably be too low for an A4.

Default do you think 225 40 18 vs 255 35 18

that the 255 will run alot wider eve tho they have same rolling diameter?

But wouldn't you want a 30 sidewall to keep overall height down? I want as short a sidewall as poss.

yes, but that's a B5 chassis. Jersey03 has a B6, IIRC.

20" pretty agressive. Plan on some mods needed to shoehorn it on.
